Tytonidae (Cú lợn)

In Southern dialects the barn owls are known as Cú heo, using heo, the Southern word for ‘pig’. Alternatively, they are often simply known as Chim lợn or Chim heo, both meaning ’pig bird’. The tytonidae is often witnessed in the bamboo hedges and even near the urban areas.
